Tiffin University (13-6, 2-4 GLIAC) is quickly approaching record-setting territory, wasting little time in dispatching Lake Erie 8-1 in a GLIAC matchup.
The Dragons are now just one win away from equaling their team single season wins record of 14 set last season. They have two matches this weekend and seven remaining during the regular season as they continue their standout season.
The toughest match of the day came at first doubles, where Luiz Carvalho/Robbie Ball fought off four match points and came back from a 7-4 deficit to win 9-8. Leonid Vladimirov/Maximillien Waeters won 8-1 and Craig Martin/Victor Fernandes posted an 8-3 decision.
In singles play, all the TU wins were in straight sets. Waeters won 6-2, 6-1, Nick Almeida won 6-3, 6-1, and Ball won 6-0, 6-1. Kyle Johnson and Brian Coffman posted 6-0, 6-0 wins. TU's lone loss came from Carvalho at first singles 6-3, 6-4 against Liam Goldberg, who has only lost once in conference play this season.
