Tiffin University (17-7, 6-5 GLIAC) won a key GLIAC matchup over visiting Michigan Tech, beating the Huskies 6-3 and jumping over them into sixth place in the GLIAC standings in the Dragons' final GLIAC regular season match of the season. The win effectively secures the sixth seed for the Dragons in the GLIAC Tournament April 19-21 at Midland, Michigan.
Tiffin, which finishes above .500 in the GLIAC for the first time in their history, opened strong, winning all three doubles matches. Robbie Ball/Luiz Carvalho upset the 7th ranked doubles team in the Midwest Region 8-4, while Nicholas Almeida/Kyle Johnson won 8-5 and Maximillien Waeters/Leonid Vladimirov won 8-4.
Ball then won at singles 6-1, 6-4 as TU took a 4-0 lead. After the Huskies won the next two singles matches in straight sets, Waeters got TU the overall victory with a tough 7-6, 1-6, 6-2 victory. Brian Coffman also won a big three set match 7-5, 2-6, 10-4.
