TIFFIN, Ohio – Ashley DeWitt and Miranda Mondozzi each hit two NCAA Provisional marks as the Tiffin University men's and women's track & field team swept Lake Erie, Friday night at the Heminger Center. TU won 15 events and had nine provisional marks and 32 additions to the top 10 list.
The women beat Lake Erie 60-47. DeWitt won the 20-LB weight with a provisional toss of 60 feet, 8.75 inches. She also had a provisional throw in the shot put (45 feet, 5.25 inches). Mondozzi was second in the weight (54 feet, 7.25 inches) and third in the shot put (45 feet, 3.75 inches), both provisional marks.
Morgan Horn cleared 10 feet to win the pole vault. She tied the school record set by Veronica Azzalina in 2012. Sarah Clow won the shot put with a provisional throw of 47 feet, 2.50 inches. Additional wins came from Robin Banks in the 500 (1:20.79), Taylor Deskins in the 200-meter dash (25.60) and Theresa Scott in the long jump (17 feet, 11 inches).
The men beat the Storm 71-42. Ralph Robinson won the 35-LB weight (56 feet, one inch) and Wilner Marcelin won the 60m hurdles (8.10). Both marks hit the provisional standard. Hitting provisional in the high jump was Eugene Cannaday and Adrian Hutchins.
Dominic Colvin won the 500 with a time of 1:04.40. That broke the record of 1:06.09 set in 2005 by Pat Manders. Antonio Combs leaped 47 feet, 9.75 inches to break his own TU record in the triple jump.
