The Tiffin University baseball team will not only battle the Hillsdale Chargers this weekend, but the never ending dual between Mother Nature and baseball will be played out as well. Tiffin, having already canceled Saturday's twin bill, will look to get a pair of games in against the Chargers on Sunday. The two canceled contests will be made up next week.

Tiffin vs. Hillsdale

Location: Heminger Field - 2375 W County Rd. 26, Tiffin, OH 44883

Series Record: Since 2008-09 season, Tiffin holds a 15-9 lead over the Chargers.

Last Meeting: Last season, Tiffin and Hillsdale played a wild and high scoring series in early April. Tiffin dropped three of the four games, with Tiffin scoring 42 runs, and Hillsdale plating 45 runs.

Chargers: Hillsdale is 7-8 this season, winning five straight games. As a team, Hillsdale is batting .288 and has a 4.69 earned run average. In their last series, the Chargers swept Davis & Elkins, scoring 27 runs in the series, and holding the Senators to seven runs.

Slow Start: Hillsdale started the season slow, stumbling out of the gate to a 1-7 record. The Chargers have won six of their last seven games, splitting a four game set with McKendree before sweeping Davis & Elkins.

Theft: Hillsdale has ran wild on the bases this season, swiping 33 bases, leading the GLIAC in stolen bases and stolen bases per game. At the NCAA level, those numbers rank 45th and 19th respectively.

Long Ball: Hillsdale has homered 11 times this year, sitting 2nd in the GLIAC. Of the Chargers' 124 hits, 26% are for extra bases.

Players To Watch:

Colin Boerst - Batting .375, Boerst leads the Chargers in batting average, hits (21), doubles (5), and stolen bases (9).

Steven Ring - Batting .321, Ring leads the Chargers in home runs (5), runs batted in (19), and slugging percentage (.698).

Pitchers To Watch:

Will Kruse - Making four appearances, Kruse is 2-1 on the year with a 3.70 earned run average. Will has tossed 24 1/3 innings, striking out 26 batters while walking only four.

Phil Carey - Making four appearances, Carey is 2-1 on the year with a 6.23 earned run average. Pitching 8 2/3 innings in relief, Phil has punched out seven batter while walking two.
