Tiffin University advanced to the GLIAC Championship Sunday at 1 pm with a solid 2-0 victory over Northern Michigan in the Semifinals of the GLIAC Tournament held at Grand Valley State University.

The Dragons held a healthy shot advantage in the game, outshooting the Wildcats 15-4, including 10-3 in the second half. Tiffin also kept up the pressure with a 9-1 edge in corner kicks.

Ashley Davis got TU on the board in the 14th minute, taking a pass up the middle from Michelle Rogers and knocking it home from 12 yards out to give TU a 1-0 halftime lead.

Both teams battled back and forth in the second half, but the Dragons put the game away in the 75th minute when Lauren Bowyer took a breakaway opportunity and deposited the ball in the bottom left corner of the net for a crucial insurance goal.

Denise Resende got the win in goal, making 3 saves over 90 minutes for the shutout.
